WHO WE ARE
A classic tale of good -vs- evil? ..Well not quite, but truly a great story that is entering a new chapter as we look to to help clients change their way of thinking about the built environment. We would love to share our tale with you over a nice meal and glass of wine, but as an introduction our short bios should suffice for now.

The "Planner Guy" ... Todd Serdula is a NC Registered Landscape Architect (RLA). He received his BLA from SUNY ESF and has over 15 years of extensive residential community planning and project design / management experience. Todd gets much of his aesthetic and community design influence from the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of Central New York. He was never more than a short ride in the back of his dad's pickup from the region's many roadside produce stands, dairy farms and vineyards. A self proclaimed "Native" of Charlotte now, Todd enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter cooking food that they grow in their front yard victory garden.

WHAT WE THINK
Let's be honest, conventional land development patterns turn farm fields into subdivisions. Some of these subdivisions have nice pools and tennis courts but that doesn't change the fact that these subdivisions are really just houses sitting in the middle of an old farm field.
But what if a portion of that farm field was put to use doing what it does best - growing food! Now we're talking about an alternative amenity - something genuine that will likely draw people into the community.
Local agriculture is experiencing a resurgence. Increasingly people want to know where their food comes from and how it is grown. What if we changed the current model of community planning & urban design to include agriculture? What if we looked to the past for the answers about how to best plan for the future of our communities? What if tradition could be married to innovation and thoughtful technologies?
Cultivatis is committed to helping answer these questions by designing agriculturally focused sustainable communities and environments. We want to share the opportunities that exist to reshape land planning in a way that makes communities more sustainable, more self sufficient and better places to live, work and grow.
